Birchbeard was an ancient treant a millennium or so of age. They stood well over 25 meters tall and had a broad crown formed by a massive web of branches still covered in leaves despite fall's approach. An owl made use of a hollow in the treant's trunk; it was a small hollow, but a perfect fit for the little bird. Countless other critters and creatures had made the treant their home, some in more destructive ways than others. Their powerful trunk housed countless creatures big and small who returned each season like clockwork. A rumpled face had emerged from the bark; moss had covered great parts of it as if representing hair. Their arms were incredibly thick and could move incredibly fast if needed. Their strength was immeasurable; scars of past conflicts were minor compared to what they had inflicted upon the enemy. Legs had grown strong and thick and shook the ground heavily with each step. Sleep and observation were the treant's main pastimes, though dreamt of exploring while doing so
