    city by Jeremy Mann, Sauron was initially called Mairon, he was a Maia in the service of Aulë, as was Saruman. He was well versed in the art of magic and blacksmithing and had great ability in this field. Mairon followed Melkor in his quest to rule the earth and became his most terrible lieutenant. He will be at the origin of the death of Finrod Felagund and as Annatar, Lord of the gifts, he will forge the rings of powers with the help of Celebrimbor who did not listen to the advice of distrust of Galadriel and Gil- Galad about Annatar, which will cost him his life.
